The Australia India Institute @ Delhi offers a 4-week residential fellowship to outstanding mid-career Australian professionals, across disciplines, including those in public life, to apply for its Incoming Leader Fellowship (ILF) Programme 2018. Fellows will be expected to deliver a public lecture on a subject of international significance and produce an extended essay of approximately 5,000 words on the same theme, which will be published and widely disseminated by the Institute. Fellows are expected to contribute to the regular programme of the Australia India Institute @ Delhi and it is envisioned their presence will enrich the Institute at Delhi. The Australia India Institute @ Delhi will endeavour to customise each Fellowship to maximise interaction with peers across India.
A payment of $2250AUD (to be made by selected ILF's) covers residential accommodation, office space and local transportation expenses.
A detailed Curriculum Vitae, three references and a 400-word statement identifying the theme of the public lecture and essay, as well as reasons for the choice of topic must be included in the application. Selections will be made by a specially constituted jury and successful applicants will be notified individually. Please send all applications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In November 2014 the Australia India Institute was awarded $500,000 in funding from Visy Industries & the Pratt Foundation to administer and plan the Australia India Leadership Dialogue (AILD) annually until 2018.
The AILD is a 2-3 day dialogue held alternately in Melbourne and New Delhi, with cabinet ministers, senior bureaucrats, members of parliament, business leaders, distinguished academics and leading journalists in attendance.
The second AILD in 2016 featured a keynote address from The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, Prime Minister of Australia and included major discussions on Global Trade Policy Development, Education and Skills, Energy and Resources, Water and Food and Domestic Politics
